Exceptional opportunity for a motivated and qualified Second Engineer to join a private 60-meter Motor Yacht based in West Palm Beach, Florida on a temp basis.
We are seeking a male candidate due to cabin arrangements who is ready to start in approximately two weeks. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, proactive, and technically skilled individual with a strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency onboard. You will be responsible for assisting the Chief Engineer in the smooth running of the vessel's engineering department, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of all onboard systems. Key Responsibilities: Assisting the Chief Engineer with planned maintenance schedules and defect rectification. Supervising and participating in daily operations, maintenance, and cleanliness of the engine room and associated machinery. Performing routine servicing and maintenance on engines, generators, and propulsion systems. Monitoring and maintaining water treatment, electrical, and other yacht systems. Ensuring compliance with all maritime safety regulations, ISM, and ISPS codes. Maintaining accurate engineering logs, documentation, and managing spare parts inventory. Supporting the deck department as needed, including occasional line handling or watersports assistance. Qualifications and Experience: All certifications and qualifications must be current and up-to-date. Relevant engineering license, such as MCA Y3 or equivalent (or higher). Minimum of three years of experience as a yacht engineer, ideally on yachts of similar size or larger. Demonstrated knowledge of yacht systems, including diesel engines, refrigeration, air conditioning, plumbing, and electronics. Experience with planned maintenance systems (e.g., IDEA) preferred. Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. Valid STCW basic safety training certificates and other relevant endorsements. Valid ENG1 medical fitness certificate or equivalent. B1/B2 visa or eligibility to work in the USA. Non-smoker.
