Led a 3-person deck team aboard a busy Bahamas-based charter yacht, training junior deckhands in maintenance, operations, and safety while keeping morale high during an intense season. Operated both the 34ft Chris Craft and 20ft Carib RIB for guest transfers, provisioning, and support runs, and oversaw full watertoy and beach setups, including waverunners, seabobs, e-foil, slide, towables, paddleboards, and snorkel gear. Actively guided guest excursions such as lobster diving, stood regular watchkeeping duties, and assisted with anchoring and mooring operations. Maintained deck logs, checklists, and inventories, also covering administrative tasks in the Chief Officer’s absence. Recognized for leadership, initiative, and adaptability in a fast paced program.
Temporary Bosun
Stood Nav watches with the Chief Officer, alternating helm and lookout duties. Assisted in passage planning, route plotting, and Nav prep. Operated anchors, crane, and tender (33ft twin outboard intrepid). Participated in monthly drills, annual flag state/classification society survey. Filled in for Engineer during dock watch; handled refrigeration troubleshooting black water system, and power outages. Conducted fuel transfer and switched power sources between shore and generators. Supported prep for PBIB and charter and sales presentations.
1st Mate / Chase Boat Captain
CurrentOperated a 33ft twin outboard Everglades tender to support the owner's spearfishing adventures. Completed 2 Panama Canal transits, one in command along with pilot. Carried out maintenance on the tender including overseeing repairs and servicing, and acquired familiarity with the engine’s assembly and parts. Oversee one Deck/Engineer to assist with maintaining the main yacht. Acquired over 5000nm of sea time. Oversee a 4-month shipyard refit for generators, pumps, and electronic systems alike with some painting experiences acquired during the prorated time.
