With 5 years of extensive yachting experience, I am looking for a Bosun / 2nd Officer position on a private or charter motor yacht. I am comfortable working under pressure and my time management abilities along with my team player attitude will see me integrate into any exterior team, seamlessly. I recently completed a 19 month contract on board an action packed program consisting of a mothership & support vessel cruising the West coast of South America. Cruising Costa Rica, Mexico & Panama searching for the best & most isolated surf spots & fishing grounds. Through this extensive experience, I have honed my skills in navigation, maintenance, and deck operations. My hands-on approach and keen attention to detail have allowed me to contribute effectively to the upkeep and aesthetic standards of yachting. In addition to my technical skills, I possess strong interpersonal abilities that facilitate excellent communication and collaboration with both crew and guests. I pride myself on delivering exceptional service to enhance the guest experience, from organising water sports activities to assisting with excursions. I have recently completed my OOW 3000GT Yacht certification and am eager to take the next step in my yachting career by working on larger vessels and taking on greater responsibilities as part of an extensive deck team and as part of a bridge team. Held a navigational watch as OOW for the entirety of my signed on time while cruising the west coast of North America, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama and the Bahamas. Assisted in mooring and anchoring procedures incorporating line handling, distance calling as deckhand and aft deck management as bosun. Annual shipyard period in San Diego included carpentry work, splicing, painting and varnishing. Prep for full paint job, interior refit & beach club refit in Thunderbolt Marina, Savannah. Carried out worklist items, carpentry, painting, basic maintenance while leading a team of two. Assisted in guest services including tender runs, surfing, fishing, E-foiling instructing & wakesurfing. Chase boat captain for a 15m SAFE Boat equipped with 3 x 425 HP Yamaha outboards, utilised for guest shore runs, anchor scouting, general docking, surf trips and fishing. Filmed majority of the drone footage for guest experience videos. Completed majority of my OOW modules while on rotation.
Deckhand
Assisted in mooring and anchoring procedures incorporating line handling, distance calling and instructing stewardesses in managing fender placements. Trusted in navigation and anchor watch practising COLREG rules and MOB drill procedures while underway. Carried out scheduled and preventative deck maintenance; Teak care, caulking, varnishing & poly filler/fiberglass/epoxy repairs. Managed all guest watersports setups, safety management and instructing. Captained a 10m Ribeye Yamaha outboard 2x300 HP chase boat, utilised for guest shore runs, anchor scouting & general docking. Cruised Italy, France, Turkey and Spain.
Deckhand
Tasked with the navigational watch & steering, anchor watches and mooring operations. Trusted with driving large tenders; Nautica Rib 470 Express & Wally tender 450. Carried out general deck maintenance; Awlgrip paint, caulking and gelcoat/fibreglass/epoxy repairs. Undertook training in the following departments: deck, engineering, sailing/spars & rigging, safety, interior and guest service. Managed all water sports activities including safety procedures overview & instructing; sailing, flite boarding, wakeboarding, wake surfing, tubing, seabobs, sups and jet skis. Spearheaded all GoPro filming for guest's end of trip videos & on deck guest services. Acting vessel training master: Executed all vessel navigation, vessel administration duties, crew management, scheduled and preventative maintenance. Sail instructor for guests on MAT 1010 race sail boat. Undertook a crossing from Cyprus to Samos.
