• General maintenance: Cleaning, washing, and polishing the yacht (deck, hull, windows, fittings). • Mooring and anchoring: Assisting with docking, tying lines, and handling anchors safely. • Safety duties: Following and helping enforce safety procedures, maintaining safety equipment. • Watersports support: Setting up and supervising activities like snorkeling, jet skis. • Guest service: Assisting guests on deck, serving drinks occasionally, and ensuring comfort. • Navigation support: Helping the captain with watchkeeping and basic navigation tasks. • Repairs: Performing minor fixes, painting, varnishing, and upkeep of deck equipment.
Ordinary sailor
• Cleaning and maintenance: Washing decks, chipping rust, painting, and keeping areas tidy. • Assisting with mooring: Helping handle ropes and lines during docking and undocking. • Watchkeeping support: Assisting the officer on duty with lookout tasks (under supervision). • Safety duties: Participating in drills and helping maintain safety equipment. • Cargo/boat handling: Assisting with lifeboats, tenders, and equipment when needed.
