Deckhand
Solo deckhand assisting the captain on and off private charters around the Bay of Islands (NZ). Kingfish and snapper fishing focus during trips. 6m Stabicraft driving. Basic game fishing techniques, knot and rod knowledge. Interior and exterior cleaning, waxing and polishing.
Second Officer
CurrentDesignated officer in charge of navigation and GMDSS equipment testing. ENC and ADP updates using Sperry Marine ECDIS and OneOcean. Coastal passage planning. Environmental and medical officer. SMS, RA and Permit to work system familiarity. Solo watchkeeper and cargo operator.
3rd Officer
Solo watchkeeper during coastal and ocean crossing passages. Officer on duty while at anchor, alongside and in DP. Primary tender driver for the owner and guests. Responsible for management of all tenders and jet skis, including ordering spare and replacement parts for electrical, mechanical and cosmetic work, ensuring scheduled maintenance and servicing plans followed whilst working alongside the tender mechanic.
