Second Engineer
CurrentAs the Senior Engineering Officer of the Watch (SEOOW), my primary focus was on ensuring the smooth operation of machinery by implementing preventive maintenance measures. Keeping up to date with the planned maintenance system (AMOS) and ordered parts well in advance to ensure safe preventive maintenance of the machine. Working closely with the 1st Engineer, I actively participated in the maintenance and overhaul of Diesel Generators and Turbochargers. Adhering strictly to established HESS guidelines and protocols was a key priority in executing all tasks effectively.
Third Engineer
CurrentI participated in the wet dock and refit of the Aurora, contributing to various projects. While serving as the Engineering Resource Manager (ERM) during the January 2022 Wetdock, I worked closely with the 1st Engineer on day-to-day project coordination. Throughout the June 2022 Refit, I oversaw several projects, such as the inspection and replacement of stub pipes, replacement of overboard valves, renewal of stern tube oil, cleaning and painting of Fin Stabilizer. During watchkeeping duties, I successfully minimized machinery breakdown duration under my supervision and ensured the safe operation of the engine room during vessel arrivals and departures.
Hotel Services Engineer
CurrentMy role encompassed a diverse array of responsibilities. These included overseeing a team of hotel fitters and pool motorman, maintaining Life Saving (LSA) and Fire Fighting equipment, Galley and laundry machinery, managing tender operations, and ensuring the upkeep of pool equipment. Additionally, I was tasked with preparing the ship for USCG and RAAS audits to enhance maritime standards. I also addressed longstanding defects to improve operational efficiency. Furthermore, under the guidance of the chief engineer, I calculated bunker requirements, devised changeover plans, and formulated bunker plans while strictly following HESS procedures during bunkering operations.
