About
I'm Bram, 24 years old, with 2.5 years of engineering experience on both motor and sailing yachts, as well as time spent in well-known Dutch shipyards. I have extensive hands-on experience with refits, new builds, preventative maintenance, IDEA management, ISM protocols, and troubleshooting. While my current role on Starfire has been fulfilling, the vessel is for sale and not very active, so I’m actively seeking a busier program—ideally a commercially registered charter yacht that requires my license on the Safe Manning Certificate. I’m also confident assisting on deck, including mooring and anchoring operations.

Experience
2nd engineer
M/Y Starfire is a well-equipped charter yacht that has been listed for sale during my time onboard. I have completed several successful charters and passages. We left the vessel due to being sold to her new owner and crew. ➢ During my time onboard, I assisted with the Annual Lloyd’s and Flag surveys, as well as the pre-sale survey. I have carried out several major maintenance tasks, including replacing fan coils (with new piping and wiring), replacing the start air compressor, replacing the air conditioning compressor, rebuilding multiple pumps, and conducting in-depth troubleshooting on the generators. ➢ As 2nd Engineer, I am responsible for all planned maintenance and ISM-related tasks, including maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly logs in IDEA. I took ownership of the IDEA maintenance and inventory system, completing a full inventory overhaul and ensuring all records are up to date. ➢ My duties include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of the following systems: Technicomar sewage treatment plant, Deutz SBV 6M 628 main engines, Caterpillar 3304/3306 generators, Alfa Laval purifier, HEM reverse osmosis watermaker, and DENSO compressors. I also maintain the cleanliness and organization of the engine room, bilges, and all engineering spaces. ➢ Additional responsibilities include maintenance of the Hinckley jet tender (Yanmar inboard), jet skis, and an outboard RIB.
2nd engineer
M/Y Calypso was listed for sale in the South of France, which provided a valuable opportunity to gain in-depth experience in the 2nd Engineer role on a large motor yacht. ➢ I oversaw the execution of weekly, monthly, and quarterly ISM checks for all safety equipment and systems, ensuring full compliance with safety protocols. ➢ My daily responsibilities included the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of key machinery and systems, including: the Jets/Hamman sewage treatment plant, Caterpillar 3516 main engines, Caterpillar 3406C generators, Heinen & Hopman HVAC system, HEM water filtration and reverse osmosis systems, Alfa Laval purifier, and DENSO compressors. ➢ In addition to machinery operations, I maintained a clean and organized engine room, bilges, and all engineering spaces. I was also responsible for the maintenance of the vessel’s tenders, equipped with Yanmar 260BY inboard engines. ➢ During my time onboard, I was responsible for managing the engine room’s IDEA maintenance and inventory program.
Deck/engineer
Joined the vessel during the final four months of the build at the Baltic Yachts facility in Finland and remained onboard for two months of sailing following delivery. My role spanned both deck and engineering duties with a strong focus on newbuild completion, setup, and bringing the vessel into full operational condition. ➢ I was responsible for the maintenance, modification, and inspection of the rig, as well as for logging all deck-related maintenance and inventory records using Excel, written reports, and Seahub. ➢ I procured the complete deck inventory from scratch, including the crew tender, and oversaw modifications to the Williams tender post-delivery. ➢ Assisted the Captain and project manager in deck layout and equipment decisions during the final build phase. ➢ Maintained and operated the tender, and created a detailed, week-by-week high-resolution photolog to document all onboard systems and components for reference. ➢ Additional responsibilities included supporting sailing operations, anchoring, watchkeeping, toy and beach club setup, and general deck operations.
