Florida based vessel with regular trips to the Bahamas and back. A young family owned program that was high paced with very high standards kept me busy and constantly sharpened all the tools in my tool-box. I was hired as Mate but got promoted to junior Captain under mentorship. My duties included but were not limited to; Guest relations and interaction, Vessel handling and manoeuvring, accounting and record keeping, maintenance management, crew management and task allocation, delegation, budgeting, itinerary planning, safety management and implementation, crew safety training, engineering and ensuring a happy and stress free environment onboard while keeping the exterior in pristine condition.

Successfully ran the exterior department to the highest of standards for a heavy private/charter vessel under an experienced captain who coached me and guided me, allowing me to gain ample drive time and vessel manoeuvring experience. I was fortunate enough to take FiFi on and off multiple docks in the Bahamas, through narrow channels and into shallow anchorages all while ensuring the exterior was maintained, toys were looked after and operations on a daily basis ran effectively and smoothly. Docking and close quarter manoeuvring in strong currents, heavy winds, dense fog and at night have been the perfect challenges to learn and get closer to mastering my trade.

Ran day to day operations ensuring all tasks were set and met, captaining all 3 large tenders, regular drive time as well as manoeuvring the big boat on and off the dock. My priority was improving the safety on board as well as dealing with crew relations and ensuring the vessel was kept to the highest standard.
