I am now on my second career, having served 20 years in UK policing with the majority of my service within specialist firearms departments and counter terrorism support roles. My roles and responsibilities demonstrate that I am a proven, self-starting Master/Chief Mate focused on exceeding my clients’ expectations and experiences. I lead from the front and possess excellent communication skills with a meticulous focus on detail and standards. I am comfortable mentoring and developing crew, supported by my background as a Yachtmaster Instructor, and place strong emphasis on training, competence, and accountability within the deck team.

I have recently completed my Chief Mate/OOW 3000gt. I am now looking for an Officers position to continue to grow and develop. I am eager to take on responsibility this upcoming season and establish longevity within a new vessel.

CurrentOverseeing the end of an extensive refit programme and sea trials in the United Kingdom, which on completion lead to a European, Caribbean and East Coast USA sailing programme which has come to an end in 2025. Discerning clients with high expectations of leadership, safety and yacht presentation. Responsible for management of crew, training, budgets, planning and passage safety. This has been a retained role for the period of 2025.
Master/Owner Refit Project
CurrentPrivately owned sailing yacht managed as a full refit and rebuild project. Vessel stripped to bare hull and comprehensively rebuilt over five years, with responsibility for project planning, budgeting, contractor coordination, and hands-on involvement in mechanical, rigging, navigation and onboard systems.
Yachtmaster Instructor and Charter
Yachtmaster instructor for 4 full seasons working extensively in the UK and Europe. Responsible for training and coaching clients to the Yachtmaster syllabus for commercial validation through RYA /MCA process. Responsible for the delivery of training standards and protocols for commercial yachting candidates. In parallel with the above I was the Master on SY Mada Kulu Hanse 505 responsible for high end corporate charters exclusive venues in the UK. This role had the responsibility for crew management, navigation and safety. A challenging role where I learnt new skills and client management.
