Career Objective

I am looking for a deckhand position to continue my career in the industry. I want to grow as a deckhand and get experience to be able to process in my career. Right now I am working towards my Yacht master certificate and I am planning to complete it in September. My absolute dream and where I see myself as a deckhand is to be able to work as a deckhand and divemaster onboard a boat as I plan to get further diving certifications. Right now I am looking for a charter/private motor yacht in the size between 40-80m. I would like to find a boat with a social and dynamic crew that likes to be active.

Hobbies & Interests

I have a big interest in sports and I've always liked to be active. I played soccer for 14 years of which three years on a professional level. Nowadays I spend more time playing padle, tennis or running but I would never say no to play a game of 5 a side. I take every chance I get to go surfing or diving which is my two biggest passions. I am an advanced open water diver and I plan to get higher certification in the future. Growing up on the country side in Sweden made me appreciate being in the nature, so I spend a lot of time fishing, hiking and camping. During the winters I follow the snow to get the best conditions for snowmobile driving which is something I really enjoy. I usually combine it with some skiing aswell.

Experience

Deckhand

Current
Apr 2025 - Present
M/Y M

Crossing the Atlantic for the second time and covering over 7,000 nautical miles deepened my knowledge of navigation and movement of the vessel. I was given the opportunity to undertake both day and night watches as well as completing my Navigational Watch rating. Upon arrival in Europe we prepared for guests, with my duties included general deck maintenance and basic engineering tasks. The season was followed by two months of charter requiring the yacht to be kept at a consistently high standard. I carried out anchor watches at night and drove the 10m inboard twin screw chase boat with guests. Being an explorer styled yacht, watersports played a significant role in the program. We carried two jet skis, sea bobs, several small tenders used for skiing, tubing and transporting guests to the beach for beach set ups.

M/Y Victorious

I worked as a deckhand within a team of 8 on M/Y Victorious. During my time on board I did one Atlantic crossing and spent a lot of time in the bridge doing navigational watches. That gave me a lot of understanding and new knowledge about both the vessel and navigation. We also did a lot of rapair jobs and prepared for the season which included painting, fairing, polishing, scrubbing teak and how to use epoxy and zikaflex. I worked both day and night shifts and extended my knowledge about the every day tasks on deck. When the boss was onboard we did some watersports and looked after the kids. I also drove the 9m tender that we had onboard.

M/Y Vicky

I worked on board as temp deckhand on board M/Y Vicky. My key responsibilities included wash downs, polishing, removing teak, inventories and painting which gave me an insight about the general deck maintenance. We also spent some time in the shipyard which meant that we did some bigger winter projects like painting the chain, repair jobs and polishing the hull.
