I am a highly motivated and experienced Chief Engineer from a commercial background with a wealth of experience both in the mechanical and electrical/electronic field along with a good knowledge of modern IT / AV and Ship management systems. I have good project management skills and experience gained from two previous new yacht build projects and many yard refits both in commercial shipping and yachting. I am an active, energetic, and well organised individual who strives to always give 100%, with a solid track record within the yachting industry and excellent longevity. I am looking to join a new vessel that is well managed and well run and where there is a harmonious atmosphere among the crew. I am fluent in Spanish which has been very advantageous in Spanish shipyards.

Career Objective
I am looking for a Rotational Chief engineer Position on a large modern motor/sail yacht. The size range I'm looking for is 75m + but the most important requirement is the vessel is well run and managed and has a harmonious environment on board. I am happy to be located in any part of the world and used to world cruising.

Chief Engineer
• Relief position while permanent Chief Engineer on extended medical leave. Rolling temporary contact. • Extensive cruising through Norway, Asia, Indian ocean, and back Mediterranean via Cape Town. • 2 Caterpillar 3516, 3 x MAN generators. • Unplanned yard period in Singapore to resolve exhaust silencer failure and ME turbo failure. • 5 Year Lloyds Survey at MB92 spring 2024. • November 2024 got the vessel started on a 6-month paint and refit project at ICON shipyard. We did frequent Helicopter operations.
Build & Chief Engineer
• Supervised Engineering through last 9 months of the construction as the build Engineer. • Managed department of rotating Second Engineers and a 3rd Engineer. • 2 x Caterpillar 3516 Main Engines and 3 x CAT C9 Generators. • IDEA Planned Maintenance System. Commercially registered with full ISM. • Responsible for an extensive AV/IT instillation featuring Crestron, Kaleidescape, SeaTel & Intellian VSAT & TVRO antennas. Jetselect & Kerio, Pepwave, Titan Marine BlueSim 5G, Cisco switches & Managed WAPS. • Praxis AMS & Power management. KNX lighting systems. • Alfa Laval purifiers, Hamann sewage treatment and Evac Toilet systems. Quantum Stabilizers system, Yachtwerft meyer Tenders. • Completed several yard periods, upgrades and refits during my time on board. • Recently completed Lloyds 10 years survey and € 6.5M refit.
Build / Chief Engineer
• Supervised engineering through last 8 months of build and served as Chief Engineer thereafter. Commercially registered with full ISM. • Full time Mediterranean single season program. Managed department with one second engineer. • 2X MTU 2000 main engines and 3X NL Cummings Generators. • Managed extensive AV & IT installation which was cutting edge at the time with AMX control and one of the first vessels to use Apple equipment for control interface. VSAT and TVRO running SKY & Arabsat decoders. • Praxis AMS & power management systems, IDEA vessel management system, Lutron lighting systems.
