Carried out full boat wash downs and detailing stainless, applying two part to teak scrubbing by hand, Awlcare hand polishing paint. Participated in crane operations to launch jet skis from the bow and the tender from the stern garage, Tender trips with guests to take them ashore and bring them back to the boat. Assisted in setting up the chase boat for tow and took part in anchor operations with the use of a snubber line, assisted in line and fender handling for docking when coming into port both alongside & stern to, on charter while guests were in the water I would lifeguard from the beach club. During Charter I have worked both early & late shifts which meant for the early shift I uncovered the entire boat & wiped it down & set it up for the day, for the night shift I covered the entire boat and kept a log in the log book for watches while at anchor while also carrying out the tasks assigned to me by the Bosun or Chief Officer. On charter I was also partaking in the water toys aspect and explaining to the guests how the toys work and how they should be used safely. Off charter, shipyard periods and during navigation my time was spent in the engine room doing engine room watches and keeping a log on the log sheet on the laptop, during my time spent with the Rotational Chief Engineers I have removed & refitted the A/C water pumps after they were serviced, During the one month yard period we removed the main engine and generator sea chest strainers cleaned and refitted them and had new ones made for the main engines, replaced the Anodes for them as well. The wet exhaust for the main engines was removed to have some repairs done on them and refitted, other miscellaneous repairs to some interior defects were also done. Replacement of lights not working on the deck throughout the boat. The anchor windlasses were also completely disassembled serviced and reassembled. During the busy Med season I rotated between the late shift and early shift for the 7 charters and 3 owners trips. This involved many guest tender trips and setting up the water toys, we moved around a lot during the season and spent most of the time on anchor therefore I was also doing anchor watches while on the late shift and engine room watches while navigating. There wasn't much time between charters however with the little time we had we made the most of it by servicing the generators which was done with the chief engineer the 1st time and on my own with his supervision the 2nd time, servicing the fuel purifier, painting the engine room bilges and replacing the port main engine exhaust valve. At the end of the season we did a month and a half technical halt to get some maintenance and repairs done such as servicing the Oily water separator, 6000h service on both generators, replacing engine mounts on both main engines, servicing the steering system, finishing the painting of the engine room bilges and all bilges onboard, cleaning all the fan coils, investigating and fixing a leak from the stern into the steering compartment, cleaning the fresh water, grey water & black water tanks, sanding and oiling the chairs on deck, removing the name from the stern to have the lights replaced, removing and servicing one of the A/C water pumps, replacing the emergency fire pump, removing all the varnish tables to be sent for revarnishing, checking and restocking our inventory & spares removing the brakes from the windlasses to replace the brake pads and replacing the starboard anchor chain.
