I find it easy to adapt and be an effective part of a team, and building trust and confidence with others is one of my strengths. I was cleaning, varnishing, and scrubbing. I gained hands-on experience with proper maintenance techniques, ensuring that all areas were in top condition.
Temporary Contract, Solo Deckhand
I've gained hands-on experience onboard, performing a wide range of maintenance tasks to a high standard. This includes dry polishing the hull on both the port and starboard sides to effectively remove marks and restore a high-gloss finish. I've carried out teak sanding to achieve a smooth, spotless surface, as well as regular teak scrubbing. Routine washdowns have been part of my responsibilities, all of which have reinforced my strong attention to detail and commitment to keeping the vessel in excellent condition. I have dealt with docking procedures, which taught me the importance of staying focused and fully engaged at all times.
Winemaker's Assistant
As a winemaker's assistant, my primary responsibility was to test the sugar levels of the red juice to ensure it was in the optimal state for fermentation. Winemaking is no simple task; it requires careful attention and the addition of various ingredients like wood powder, tartaric acid, and tannins to achieve the right balance and alcohol content. The ability to maintain a positive mindset and push through difficult circumstances is something I'll carry on board, ensuring I can give my best without ever giving up.
