The role was split 70 (deck) - 30 (engine room). During the winter on deck, I carried out usual deck maintenance: washdowns, polishing, detailing, preparing deck furniture, and assisted with Sika repairs. During the summer, I was involved with looking after guests whilst swimming, preparing the tender for guest use (i.e., fueling and cleaning), assisted with navigational watches as a lookout, and generally kept decks tidy and clean. During the winter in the engine room, I worked with the Chief Engineer to paint various systems and pumps, clean bilges and tanks, and also took responsibility for the engine room when the Chief was away. This involved keeping on top of tank levels and responding to alarms.

Thoroughly cleaned the engine room, ensuring all areas were free of dirt, grease and debris. Cleaned and maintained the bilges, ensuring they were dry and free of contaminants.

Carried out regular cleaning and maintenance of the yacht's exterior, including washing decks, polishing, varnishing, and minor repairs. Supported guest activities by preparing water sports gear, managing tenders, and ensuring equipment is ready and safe. Assisted with docking, mooring, and anchoring, handling lines and fenders. Operated and maintained tenders, and monitored deck areas for safety. Took part in safety drills and checks, and kept deck inventory updated including organizing delivery of missing supplies. Worked collaboratively with the team to maintain a smooth onboard environment.
