About
I have over ten years of experience in the yachting industry so I'm currently seeking a rotational Captain or Chief Officer position, though I would also consider a single-season Mediterranean-based yacht. Most of my career has been spent on dual-season charter yachts, but I am looking for a rotation or single-season opportunity as I will be becoming a father in August and wish to spend more time with my family. I hold a Master 3000 and Chief Mate 3000 license, along with extensive knowledge of ISM and ISPS, as well as strong skills in deck maintenance and water toys. My written references from each yacht I have worked on attest to my leadership abilities. Please feel free to contact me if any of the positions mentioned become available.

Relief Captain / Chief Officer
Drawing from my prior experience as a relief Captain, I took on a temporary contract as the relief Captain and Chief Officer on a newly built 50-meter motor yacht, bound by non-disclosure agreements that prevent me from disclosing the yacht's name. In this role, I worked closely with the Captain to develop a mini ISM and compile all necessary documentation. I managed nearly all maneuvers, including docking and anchoring, with Captain Umutcan placing complete trust in my abilities, allowing me to execute these tasks independently. This temporary position provided an opportunity to enhance my maneuvering skills while supervising a deck crew of three and overseeing the maintenance of the tender and water toys. Written reference upon request - due to signing an NDA as I'm not allowed to reveal the name of the yacht which will be visible on the reference.
Relief Captain / Chief Officer
Argo is an exceptionally busy passenger code M/Y, accommodating up to 26 guests and supported by a dedicated crew of 15 members. During our inaugural season, we successfully completed 10 back-to-back charters, followed by 11 in the subsequent season. This demanding schedule required immense discipline and expertise, as it involved not only the maintenance of the deck and water toys but also the management of a four-person deck team, alongside effective communication with both guests and agents. The Captain entrusted me with significant responsibilities, allowing me to engage directly with agents and guests, as well as to execute various maneuvers in my role as his Chief Officer / Relief Captain. After two seasons, Captain Leo decided to leave the industry for a while, and I also left the company on good terms shortly thereafter, due to changes in the yacht's operational structure.
Chief Officer
M/Y Nectar operates as a highly active dual-season motor yacht. I initially joined the vessel in November for a 20-day stint to assist with the crossing. Impressed by my work ethic and expertise, the Captain extended a contract offer, promising a permanent position contingent on a successful season and positive feedback from the owners, which was realized in March. My journey began in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, from where we embarked on the Atlantic crossing to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Shortly after our arrival in the U.S.V.I., we began our first guest trip, enjoying the Caribbean season across various destinations, including the British Virgin Islands, St. Barth, St. Maarten, Anguilla, and the Bahamas, culminating with our final guest trip in the Exuma region of the Bahamas. At the end of February, we set sail for the Atlantic crossing back to Europe, specifically to the Feadship shipyard in Makkum, Netherlands. In my role, I was responsible for overseeing all ISM, ISPS, and MLC procedures, ensuring that the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) was effectively managed. Additionally, I handled communications with agents, updated the medical kit, and led a deck team of five, which included a second officer, a bosun, and three deckhands. During our time at the shipyard, I took charge of comprehensive deck maintenance and significant new deck projects, particularly as the new owner introduced a variety of water toys. This required the organization of their installation on the deck, along with the addition of baby gates and railings throughout the yacht. My responsibilities also encompassed extensive administrative tasks, as I worked diligently to update and verify all documentation in preparation for the yacht's upcoming charter season, ensuring that everything was in impeccable order for the year ahead.
