Hobbies & Interests
Growing up with an engineering background I was introduced into my hobbies at a young age. My hobbies include restorations, vehicles and performance boats. During my spare time I enjoy hands on work with Fans Creative, a company/hobby of my fathers. We custom design and build interactive art pieces with a range of mechanical engineering, from large ceiling fans to sophisticated coffee tables. All works involve machining, fabrication welding and electrical. Feel free to scan the QR code, I’m sure you will find this entertaining. I am also the owner of Fast Cats Racing. We assemble engines as well as engineer performance kits, accessories for ‘Thundercat’ race boats. Please scan the QR code to see our website! Another project I have recently completed, is converting a vintage 1957 moped from petrol to electric. Accomplishing this extensive design to now be fully road registered, including the ability to use a mobile app, for control of power and fault finding. Additionally, I enjoy staying fit and healthy by spending time in the gym and being involved with water sports, wake boarding, wake surfing, kite boarding and surfing.
Experience
2nd engineer
Joining the program during a dry dock maintenance period, preparing the vessel ready for launch and Atlantic crossing. Ensuring full operation of the vessel ready for guest trip operations. Extensive water sports and adventures Itinerary. A crew working in harmony to overcome all challenges. Working as a team and independently completing repairs and maintenance to tenders, toys, critical equipment and all auxiliary systems.
2nd engineer
During my time on board, sailing a wide variety of locations including French Polynesia, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, Caribbean, Mediterranean, USA and more, I was involved with extensive upgrades to update the vessels systems and improve the efficiency of the vessels operating expenses. A complete removal and installation of the vessel’s chiller plant: upgrading all components, including the compressors to the popular Danfoss turbo cores. Working closely with OPK Germany, to assure a functional system, whilst keeping in my mind a design with access for future repairs & maintenance. A successful upgrade with up to a 30 % improved efficiency, in return less load on equipment and improved running costs for the owner. Upgrading all chiller plant pipe work from copper-nickel to PVC & PVCU for the sea water and chilled water loop. Designed, purchased and installed by myself in collaboration with the Chief Engineer.
