Hobbies & Interests
My main hobbies are Rugby and Sailing. Being part of the local and uni rugby team introduced me to new people. These people created an atmosphere that motivated me to get more involved, working as a team to have fun and learn the sport. The community on and off the pitch made my university experience much more enjoyable. Regarding sailing, I have my own Laser 1000, which I sail casually and socially. I am also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the boat, cleaning it, replacing lines and replacing parts where necessary. I enjoy going out on the water with my friends, especially when they’ve got a wider variety of vessels, including a Spitfire (Catameran), Laser 2000’s (2 person crew plus helm), 49er’s (Race Boats with hiking option). Furthermore, I love watching sports, with my favourites being the Sail GP and the Six Nations. I also enjoy travelling, with my most memorable experience being when I did a 14-day mile builder with the RYA, which allowed me to explore Gozo, Malta, Syracuse and Sicily.

Lifeguard / Activities supervisor
Lifeguard at Ride Leisure supervising an Aqua Park, as well as managing other activities such as Kayaking, Jet Ski’s, 4x4 driving experience, assault course and axe throwing. Treated minor injuries throughout the season with the occasional dislocation. Lifeguarded using a small powerboat (3m), maintained the aqua park by tightening the anchor chains and carrying out puncture repairs.
Duty Manager / Lifeguard
Seasonal role inbetween University. 5 years of frequent powerboat operation (6/8m) carrying out tasks involving towing, dropping anchors, recovering anchors, transporting people, storing powerboats on trailers, treating water, carrying out water quality tests and inflating the aqua park. Our smallest boat (4m) was used for inflations for at least 2hrs a day, our largest (8m) used for 2-4 hours per week for our dedicated maintenance periods. Daily involvement in First aid and injury management, treating range of injuries from suspected heart attack, dislocations, head trauma/concussions to cuts, bruises and hypoglycaemia. Maintenance tasks carried out when neccessary or weekly were tightening anchor lines, diving 3/6m to reattach lines, preparing for harsh weather conditions and puncture repairs. Fequent interation with guests and families, creating a positive and exciting atmosphere enhancing their experience.
