Experience
Temporary 2nd Engineer
I was employed as a temporary 2nd engineer/day worker to provide assistance and cover leave during the boat’s 5 year survey. I was mainly tasked with the removal, overhauling and refitting of most pumps on board along with overseeing and organising contractors’ daily work.
Temporary 3rd Engineer
I was employed as a temporary 3rd engineer to cover the leave of the permanent 3/E whilst the boat crossed the Atlantic from Italy – Maine, USA. During my time on board, I was asked to extend my temp contract for another 3 weeks upon the arrival of the boat stateside. This was my first time working with diesel-electric systems on board yachts, having worked with them on commercial cruise ships. During my time on board, I was mainly responsible for tender maintenance, watchkeeping and keeping on top of the planned maintenance system.
Temporary 2nd Engineer
I was employed as a temporary 2nd Engineer to cover the leave of the 2nd Engineer. The first week of my month on board was spent getting the boat ready for a 3 week boss/charter trip. This was the first time I’d experienced charter trips due to working on private yachts previously and felt the increase in passenger capacity and activity was easily manageable. It was also my first experience working with Crestron which was much more user friendly than previous AV/IT systems that I’d worked with.
