I am an experienced sailing and Captain with a lifelong career in the yachting industry. I began sailing at the age of twelve, racing dinghies in Perth, Western Australia. After finishing school, I worked as a sail maker for Rolly Tasker Sails, where I gained valuable experience in sail making, yacht rigging, and construction. I went to Europe and started working professionally in the yachting industry, joining various sailing yachts on the international racing circuit. During that time, I competed in events such as the Fastnet race in 79 and Parmelia Race from UK to Perth Western Australia via Cape Town South Africa. My first command was the sailing yacht Independent Endeavor, a Swan 65 ketch and I have been a Captain ever since. I later commanded the racing maxi Longobarda, competing in the Newport to Bermuda Race, San Francisco Big Boat Series, and Sydney to Hobart Race. Following this, I Captained a series of Mirabella yachts for the Vittoria Family , including Mirabella III, a highly regarded and successful charter yacht. I subsequently oversaw the construction of Mirabella V (now M5) at Vosper Thornycroft in the UK, serving as New Build Captain throughout the project. In more recent years, I have captained several motor yachts, both private and charter, and hold an MCA 3000 GT Master qualification. Over the course of my career, I have crossed the Atlantic fifteen times, crossed the Pacific and sailed around the world ,I competed in numerous international regattas, and managed a range of new builds, refits, and maintenance programmes.
