Joined the vessel in Turkey as build captain for a new 44m commercially registered project. Worked alongside the shipyard, owner and management team for the final stages of build process. Undertook multiple sea trials to commission various vessel systems. Full setup of ISM system, initial surveys for Flag/Class, arranged insurance and crew for a commercial yacht. Created and adhered to a budget for all vessel expenses, able to project spending in advance. Created ongoing warranty list and supervised various yard periods to achieve rectification of these issues. Atlantic crossings, presentation of the vessel at various Yacht Shows, introduction to the charter market. Multiple successful charter seasons in the Caribbean and Med, ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable regulations, with a good folio of repeat charter clients.

Set the vessel up for summer, ensuring the ongoing warranty works were completed. 2 successful (Covid) summer seasons, with the Russian owners on board for extended periods. Cruised extensively in France, Italy, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Croatia, Montenegro and Turkey. Winters spent in San Remo ensuring any remaining warranty items were concluded. Entertained guests while ensuring the crew dynamic remained healthy and positive. Expenses within a given budget for both guest activities and maintenance costs. Ensured the entire operation was run to Class, Flag, Management and Owner’s specifications. After the 2021 summer season the boat was presented and sold at the Monaco Yacht Show.

First experience as Master, including periods and voyages in sole command of the vessel. 3+ years onboard with extensive navigational, docking/undocking, and logistical experience. Given full control of hiring and setting up the deck team of 5, and I am proud of the team I assembled. Onboard responsibilities included crew matters such as rosters, crew welfare and safety, drills, vessel security, paperwork requirements, compliance with local and IMO regulations. Handling cash accounts while abiding by the appropriate budget, dealing with contractors and ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of the vessel to high superyacht standards.
