About
I discovered my love for marine at the age of 18, when I became involved in a large Powerboat Dealership which also ran two yacht harbour and performed competent powertrain refits. My affinity to engines and their technology allowed many deep insights and I developed a strong desire to grow my competence beyond customary standards. That was how I qualified for the small, dedicated team of Volkswagen Marine where I was tasked with the development of an engine diagnosis solution for customer service use. That was a major responsibility at an early time but my work found the full appreciation of our joining partner Mercury Marine, who subsequently challenged me with globally applicable overall service solutions for all the engine families that were Volkswagen- or Audi based. At a certain point, I was offered to become a specialist for one-off yacht concepts and with it came the understanding that few environments are as tough and rewarding if you aim for the achievable technological maximum. One of these projects was a classically styled but extremely performance orientated 66m sailing yacht with an unprecedented power concept, and the culmination of my experiences at that time has been a transatlantic crossing on this craft as 2nd engineer. In 2015 this lead to a final decision, to gain all the necessary qualification, to change my carrier path successfully into the business of professional yachting and yacht engineering. Since 2017, I have been intensively involved in a Custom Project on a Swan 90, which further confirmed my interest in working with sailing yachts. The understanding of the function and the interaction of all systems on board, their maintenance and further development in yard periods, together with the possibility to be involved in all aspects in order to sail the yacht, that is the challenge that make up the great appeal for me. With yachts like S/Y Twilight and S/Y Skade, this challenge has been lifted to the next size of Sailing Yachts, their complexity of systems and the required ability to plan far in advance to ensure the maximum system availability even under difficult circumstances and especially in remote places, where access to spare parts, tools and professional competence is often limited. I am privileged with living my passion, and I will develop this further to the ultimate benefit of any yacht who looks for my competences as an engineer who shall fight any compromise before it develops into a problem.

Career Objective
For now I’m looking for a chief engineer position in rotation on a 40-45m sailing yacht, which is close to the following: • sailing yacht in dual season or worldwide cruising between ca. 40-45m / bigger unique projects maybe as 2nd engineer (requires case to case assessment…) • best case is private with less charters but regattas in between are fine • charter in general is not a problem as long its purpose is not only charter and the boat is pushed 24/7 the whole year • I want to be involved in sailing the boat, otherwise 50% of my passion is missing ;-) this is a hard prerequisite which I have missed in the last projects too much… • for my personal life a 8:8 rotation would be the best, but if not possible based on the yachts schedule it is not a job stopper • good longevity of the crew in the past as this indicating a lot and I’m aiming the same • everything else need to be assessed individually with package offered…
Hobbies & Interests
As i made my passion to my job 2 boxes are already ticked by default, engineering and sailing. If the boat and schedule gives the oportunity, wakeboarding and diving are great things I love to do in between. Furthermore exploring new places around the world is something you should not miss out if chance is there by side of the job. I like sport at the free air. Jogging is something you can nearly do everywhere and if i find the chance, I love to play basket ball and squash. When I'm back home I usally keep working with boat- and yacht engines in our workshop and by side of that motor bikes are a big passion from me since I was pretty young.
