Personal Details

Career Objective

As part of my continued professional development in the superyacht sector, I am actively working toward achieving the SV Engineer Officer Of the Watch (<9000 kW, <3000 GT) qualification within the next 12 months.

Hobbies & Interests

Growing up in the coastal seaside resort of Tenby I took a very active role in my local sailing club, I have always spent most of my time in the harbour around boat’s which have interested me from a very young age. In my spare time you will find me participating in a variety of sea-based activities, from the age of 10 I started kayaking and then progressed onto Sailing shortly after, then came Powerboating and Rock Climbing. More recently I have competed competitively in Triathlons, which I find to be very rewarding and a great way to keep fit. Diving is another interest of mine, I have developed my skills to reach a BSAC “Sports Diver” level, and I am possibly one of the most active members of my local diving club, usually diving at least twice a month all year round.

Experience

Station Mechanic

Sep 2018 - Apr 2025
Royal National Lifeboat Institution

During my time with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) at Tenby Lifeboat Station, a high- tempo Search and Rescue (SAR) unit responding to over 90 callouts annually, ranging from minor incidents to life-threatening emergencies, I held primary responsibility for the safe operation, upkeep, and fault diagnosis of all onboard and shore-based mechanical systems. This included advanced AV/IT networks, launch and recovery mechanisms, and wider station infrastructure. I took a proactive role in driving system improvements not just locally but across the region, contributing to enhanced operational readiness and efficiency. I also delivered hands-on training to both new and experienced crew members in critical seagoing procedures. My role often placed me at the forefront of emergency engineering challenges, including managing major main engine failures during live operations at sea. To further support my role and the broader mission of the RNLI, I completed multiple technical and operational training courses, continually upskilling to remain effective and adaptable in dynamic and high-stakes environments.

Deck/Engineer

Feb 2018 - Aug 2018
M/Y Maflindo

I was responsible for duties such as washdowns, daily tender driving and night anchor watches while also completing maintenance and running of all mechanical and electrical systems on board vessel. During shipyard periods it was vital for diligent planning to ensure efficient time management while completing maintenance of the Hull, Machinery, Tender and Seabob. During my time onboard I undertook regular record keeping of machinery and operations, Day to day operation of vessel systems on day trips and holding engine room watch underway and at anchor.
