The 135’ Baglietto-built (41.5m) BLUE ICE, Delivered in 1999 and having undergone a 2021 refit, the superyacht is a fast and seductive cruiser, reaching an impressive top speed of 30 knots. This aluminium-hulled beauty achieves a cruising range of 2800 nm for elegant exploration. She sports an exterior design by Aldo Cichero and naval architecture from the shared boards of Paolo Rossi and Alcide Sculati. BLUE ICE’s an interior by Ivana Porifi and Cerri & Associati, her beautiful woodwork creates a warm ambiance throughout. She can accommodate 9 guests in four staterooms; and her full-beam master suite features large windows, a private study and en suite bathroom. Guests can also enjoy amenities such as a private movie theater, gym and sauna. With a multitude of outdoor spaces to offer, BLUE ICE’s exterior features include sun pads & loungers, a spa pool, a bar, and barbecue outdoor sound system. Her sheltered aft deck, perfect for al fresco dining, leads down to the beach club where winged doors create sea-level balconies and easy access to the tender and water toys. duties include the importance of safety, efficiency, compliance, and technological expertise in managing the yacht’s systems. My day-to-day duties entailed the following important functions: Operation & Maintenance of Main Systems: Oversee the daily operation and preventive maintenance of main engines, propulsion systems, generators, and auxiliary machinery to ensure safe and reliable performance. Electrical Systems & Automation: Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, navigation, HVAC, entertainment, and security systems. Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and resolve technical issues across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, coordinating with external contractors when specialized repairs are required. Purification & Environmental Systems: Operate and maintain fuel, oil, and water treatment systems, including bilge, black water, and desalination plants, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Energy Management & Efficiency: Monitor energy consumption, optimize fuel and power usage, and recommend upgrades or modifications to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
