Yachtee introduces a new standard for couples and team recruitment, redefining how captains and recruiters source, evaluate and hire couples.
For a while now, we've noticed a gap in yacht recruitment platforms, including our own, when it comes to couples or team applications. It's not the biggest issue in the industry, but it's one that keeps coming up, particularly from sailing yacht and smaller motor yacht captains who regularly look for experienced couples to join their crew. Up until now, there hasn't been an easy, intuitive way for yachts to accept joint applications, often leading to messy, inefficient hiring processes.
We decided it was time to address this directly. With Yachtee’s new couples and team application feature, candidates can apply together seamlessly, allowing employers to assess their combined skills and experience at a glance. It’s not revolutionary, but it's practical, straightforward and something we think will make the recruitment process just a little bit better for everyone involved.
How to post a couples or team position on Yachtee
Posting a couples or team position on Yachtee is straightforward. First, make sure you have a recruiter account set up at recruit.yacht.ee.
When creating your job listing, navigate to the Job Details step. After selecting your primary position, look directly below and you’ll see the option Add Partner Position (For Couples/ Teams). Simply check this box, select the second position and you're good to go.
Once you've added both positions, you'll be able to specify salaries individually, so each role can have its own distinct compensation. You can also set different start dates for each role if required or simply select the same date for both.
At the bottom of this section, you'll find a helpful option to clearly state your application preferences: whether you're open exclusively to couples or team applications or if solo applicants are also welcome. It’s flexible and entirely up to you based on your specific situation.
Lastly, in the fifth step, Internal Notes (taken into account for Premium and Pro listings), you can add any additional suitability criteria you have in mind. You can specify these details individually for each role or outline requirements for the team as a whole. Whatever matching specifics you need, simply include them here.
Hit Publish, and just like that, your couples or team job listing is live on Yachtee.
Managing couples applications and suitability matching
Once your couples or team position is live, managing applications is simple and intuitive. Yachtee’s advanced suitability matching evaluates each application carefully, assessing the applicants as a team rather than individually. You’ll see a clear suitability score indicating the couple or team's overall fit for your roles, accompanied by a concise reason explaining why they're suitable or not. A brief summary then provides a helpful overview of each candidate's experience, qualifications, and how they complement each other as a team.
When reviewing applications, you can also conveniently access the partner’s CV directly within the application form, keeping everything neatly organized in one place. This means no more digging through separate profiles or email attachments, saving you valuable time.
