About
I am a detail-oriented Software Engineer transitioning to the marine industry with a history of work in fast-paced, high-pressure software consultancies and startups. I studied Mathematics at the University of California, Davis where I concentrated on Combinatorial Geometry, Low-dimensional Topology, and Algebraic Topology. I then used my autodidact programming skills and education to find a Industrial Software Engineering position using the world's premier research programming language, Haskell. Across my four years of experience in SWE positions, I have professionally developed High-Performance Rendering and Graphics engines, Computer Vision systems, Artificial Intelligence, Networking Protocols, Financial Technologies, Desktop and Mobile applications, and Web applications. I am excited to see the marine industry's utilization of the newest technology, and want to contribute to the state of the art once I have the hands-on experience and perspective that comes with maintaining and operating these systems myself. I'm passionate about constructing well-documented, stable, and high-performance systems so I can be the pillar of support that facilitates seamless operations in any organization I work for and collaborate with. I am looking for a rigorous and organized environment where I can translate my diverse software and IT background to an AV/IT Officer or ETO position.

Hobbies & Interests
Volunteering: After graduating from UC Davis, I spent the summer developing the software infrastructure and training program for the UC Davis Food Pantry. I am extremely proud that my supply and order management software serves over 8 million meals to 18,000+ food-insecure students every year at California's 3rd largest university. After graduating, I continued working on food insecurity by donating my time to local food banks in New Bern, NC. Surfing: From my time living in San Diego, I would wake up at 5AM most days of the week and surf before coming to class. Sailing: I have casually sailed 420s and Lasers since I was 8 years old during my summers in New Hampshire. I have also occasionally crewed in amateur sailing regattas in college. Scuba Diving: I learned how to scuba dive when I was 10 years old, and have wreck dived in the Bahamas, Belize, and Israel. I am delighted to bring a love of the mystery of the ocean to yachting clientele. Music: I am an avid music lover, and was classically trained in upright bass when I was 11 years old. Since then I have played piano, bass, and guitar, and compose music inspired by the soundtracks of the video games in my childhood. 3D Artist: During my time developing rendering and game engines, I built up the skills to author 3D assets for video games including modeling, texturing and sculpting work.
