About
I am D. S. Ramos, a dedicated, fit and well presented maritime professional with a stable and personable demeanor I have acquired over 20 years of experience in both the charter and private yachting industry, spanning from Antibes to Australia and London to Fort Lauderdale. I am looking for long-term positions that focuses on the Northeast and Southeast United States, and possibly the Bahamas. I do have experience on the West Coast, in Mexico, San Diego, and the Pacific Northwest. As a U.S. citizen with all up to date certifications, a USCG 200 GT master, TWIC, USCG medical, STCW 95/2010, ENG 1, MROP, EDCIS proficiency, GMDSS proficiency, RO proficiency, PDSD, ENG 1all up to date, and I am competent with ISM ISPS codes, and having apprenticed as a shipwright at Riviera Yachts in Coomera, Australia, in 2003. I'm very confident with my engineering experience and mechanical aptitude to perform basic engineering maintenance. I am returning back to full-time onboard a vessel. As in 2008, I left the offshore side (crewing) of the industry after returning from working abroad in a land-based position in the UK to start a small DBA which grew to become DS Ramos Maritime Services, Inc in Sag Harbor, New York catering to UHNW clients in the Northeastern United States. During this time I married a young woman that I had originally met on my very first yacht in Sag Harbor and started a family in Bridgehampton, NY, where her family has lived for 250 years. We welcomed our daughter 9 years ago and we recently relocated to Amish Country, PA, after moving from Bridgehampton, NY after the pandemic. Elverson, PA is a great place to raise our daughter, along with our three horses, six dogs, four cats. I am looking forward to working and collaborating with the right Captain and crew, I am now more focused on responsibilities and have a stronger drive to succeed and even more desire to learn of this industry, I have been sober for 15 years.
