I come from Bournemouth in the UK and having grown up by the sea, it has been my playground both on and under the water. My love for free diving and spearfishing has fostered a deep respect for the marine environment, while my time spent as a member of a lifesaving club has ingrained in me the importance of safety and vigilance around water. As a dedicated member of a rugby team, I learned the value of teamwork, discipline, and resilience. This experience has sharpened my ability to work under pressure and stay focused on achieving common goals. I feel these skills are transferable to the yachting industry, where communication and coordination are key to maintaining smooth operations. In addition to my sports experience, I have worked extensively in physically demanding roles, including using power tools and building fences and decking for large-scale garden projects. This hands-on experience has taught me to handle equipment with precision and confidence, making me comfortable working in various outdoor and potentially challenging environments. Working with tree surgeons and managing safety equipment has further developed my attention to detail and understanding of safety protocols. Furthermore, as an instructor at a children's and adult outdoor adventure park, I gained valuable experience in organising activities, ensuring safety, and delivering a positive experience for participants. My role required me to assess risks, communicate clearly, and adapt to different situations. My background as a climber has also made me comfortable working at heights, which I feel are useful as a deckhand. I am now ready for a new adventure in the world of yachting.
