CurrentAs First Engineer Officer on Marella Discovery 2, I am responsible for overseeing the vessel’s diesel-electric propulsion powered by 5 x Wärtsilä engines 12V46 & EGCS, ensuring reliable power generation, distribution, and safe operation of dual fixed-pitch propellers and thrusters for maneuvering. I manage performance at cruising speeds of up to 24 knots, stability of a 264 m long and 35 m widebeam vessel accommodating ~1,800 guests and 770 crew, and the smooth functioning of critical hotel, passenger, and crew systems, including HVAC, fresh water generation, and safety equipment. My role also involves ensuring strict compliance with international safety and environmental regulations, supporting sustainability initiatives, and optimizing operational efficiency to enhance both guest experience and vessel performance
