Supported the chief mate, working independently and efficiently across a wide range of deckhand duties. Responsibilities included full yacht washdowns, teak scrubbing and treatment across all decks, stainless steel and furniture polishing, and exterior window cleaning, including working safely at height with a harness. Performed dry, wet, and machine polishing, acid rust removal with safe chemical handling and PPE, and daily chamois drying to ensure water spot-free surfaces. During dry dock operations, assisted with plastic wrapping, chemical cleaning and polishing of the forward hull and vents, and managed stern lines, carefully undoing and re-securing them to allow crane rope passage. Participated in crane-assisted launch and sea trial sail-out, handling bow lines and winches as one of two deckhands responsible for bow operations. Supported docking procedures, including fender positioning, ground line management, mooring line preparation, and line coiling and knotting (bowline, clove hitch, round turn with two half hitches). In the hybrid engine room, I was responsible for careful washdown of pipes, tubes, batteries, and electrical components, along with bilge cleaning and drying using hoovers. Maintained tool organization and assisted with minor maintenance. Throughout, adhered to strict safety protocols and regularly used PPE (harness, gloves, ..) when handling chemicals.

• Over 400+ hours/year sailing, race prep, anchoring, rigging, and maintenance both onboard and ashore. • 8+ Regattas and 1 National Championship on J24s, including 3 first-place wins. • Advanced from green crew to fully training new members in sail setup, docking, and understanding boat handling in varied conditions.
