Experience

Third Officer

Jun 2024 - Nov 2024
M/Y Regal Princess

Junior watch keeper on 4-8 watch assisting my senior officer to keep a safe navigational watch using radar observations, ECDIS and keeping communication with the shore-based and Ship-based personnel to ensure the vessel stays on course and meets all international regulations. I acted as Co-Navigator for the majority of arrivals and Departures throughout the British Isles before completing our Transatlantic crossing towards Mexico and the Caribbean. I acted as Lead Navigator taking the ship in and out of anchorages in Scotland as well as in Grand Cayman. I Oversee and manage a team of deckhands, ensuring deck operations such as mooring, anchoring, and gangway operations are carried out safely and efficiently. I was first in charge of our Search and Rescue fire team conducting trainings and carrying out drills. I was also in charge of the Port Fast Rescue Craft conducting several MOB exercises as coxswain with my small team. I supervised tender operations whilst at anchor both from the bridge and aiding and organising passengers from the shell door. I perform routine maintenance and inspections of deck equipment and safety gear, ensuring all systems comply with maritime regulations.

Third Officer

Jul 2023 - Nov 2023
M/Y Grand Princess

Junior watchkeeper on several watches assisting with navigation, communication and Co-ordination. We were operating in Alaska before crossing the Pacific to start the Australia season. Alaska season made me proficient in both mammal and ice avoidance. I was first in charge of Boundary cooling fireteam, instructing my team to contain the damage and prevent the spread of fire using onboard portable and fixed fire fighting appliances. Again on this ship I was in charge on mooring operations and a fast rescue craft. I regularly provided navigational talks and tours to passengers engaging fully to benefit passenger experience.

Cadet

Aug 2019 - Jan 2023

As Sponsored by Princess cruise for my cadetship I embarked on several of their vessels for training in which I learnt in depth about deck maintenance, safety regulations and precautions as well as maritime and environmental law. Helping oversee several operations whilst the ship was in dry dock in Portland, Oregon. These contracts taught me the importance of resilience, quick thinking whilst continuously developing my nautical knowledge.
