About
Experienced Captain with YM Ocean 200Gt endorsed - RYA Cruising Instructor – Italian 200gt Coc no limits - STCW and Advanced First Aid, PB Level II, GMDSS SRC. I have 4 transatlantic deliveries, the most recent in Nov-Dec 2023 on board a CNB76 "UCONIC" from Palma to Grenada (Caribbean) and a large number of crossings as skipper for Thalassa ICE75, Skipper Lagoon 62, 1st Mate Ladisea Vallicelli 82, Skipper Cara Mia Hanse 675, Skipper Fico Lagoon 55, Skipper Hidra Vallicelli 67, Skin First 50 (offshore regattas), Skipper Dioscura Swan 46 for a large number of regattas and an ocean delivery with this boat. I have spent the last 12 years working as a skipper for various charter companies in the Med, Greece, Italy, Balearic and Canary Islands and now I am captain of a Lagoon 62ft for Sailuxe Catamarans (a luxury charter company based in Italy and chartering in all the Med and Caribean). I have been living on board a Swan 46ft MKII for the past 7 years. The boat was abandoned for a few years in a marina in Sardinia and I completely refitted it myself. Along with the captain activity, I am an RYA Cruising Instructor for Sail Ionian and TOPSAIL Sailing School and other schools in Europe. I define myself as an enthusiast and multitask team player. Working on larger yachts has given me many transferable skills, with a strong background in hospitality, getting to know guests' preferences and what they enjoy and therefore, creating a personalised experience, with the constant overlook on safety on board. I am easy-going, friendly, and drama-free, the combination of skills acquired over the years and never ending passion, make me a dynamic team player with focus on hospitality and safety. My hands-on expertise includes rigging, mechanical and electrical systems, engine maintenance, water ballast, winches, and windlass servicing. I also led the full restoration of Dioscura SY, a yacht that had been abandoned for nine years. I value teamwork, safety, and structured planning. When joining a new yacht, I take the time to fully understand its systems and operational details. Sailing is not just my profession but a way of life that continuously challenges and inspires me. Every passage, race, and job on board has strengthened my adaptability, technical expertise, and ability to work effectively within a team.
