Started as a trial for the Bosuns position they had open, doing winch services, paint repairs and container and stores inventories. The Engineers were doing a full PLC change, so got involved and helped them as they were short handed. I encouraged them to promote their deckhand to bosun, who was not getting the job initially, because she was female.

CurrentFinished the 10 year survey, managing daily tasks of installing all deck fittings, rigging, exterior furniture. Over 20000NM as watch leader, 5 months of boss trips, heavy dive operations and exploration of remote pacific islands. Nominated Safety Representative.

We ran mini-ISM, so in addition to running the deck I got exposed to the management system. Deck routine maintenance and inventory system run through IDEA. Over 15000nm as watch leader, 6 months of refit, 3 month straight boss trip. Managed multiple contractors for yard period after lighting strike, as 1 Mate was on study leave.
