About
With a lifetime of recreational sailing experience and 12000+NM sailed in the last 18 months, a former management career, a love for the ocean and an active lifestyle, I might be the ideal new crewmember on board of your sailing yacht. I have a caring personality and take initiative naturally, always willing to help out and make someone else’s life easier. In my former role I have proved the ability to work solo and independently but I would much rather prefer to be part of a team as that would be a better match with my personality, motivational needs and it provides me with more learning opportunities. I value onboard cultures built on trust, professionalism, and respect, and I aim to contribute as a reliable and composed professional. As a former operational manager in healthcare and a daughter of two nurses, I naturally have more than basic medical and first aid knowledge. I am preferably looking for an all-round role as deck/stew(/cook), because I would love to be involved in the sailing and maintaining/ improving my sailing skills but I know my strong organizational skills also make me naturally engage in the activities inside, mainly in the galley. I don’t mind the housekeeping, laundry and deep cleaning either. Especially after working for a high demanding owner with great eye for detail I am well aware of all the jobs that come with working on a yacht, including cleaning the bilges.
Personal Details
Career Objective
I only recently started my new career in boating, as I only the existence of this industry about a year ago. I love to be on the water and combine travelling/ exploring new countries and work. I'd like to develop myself further in the industry by becoming part of a team (in stead of the solo role I have now). It would be better match with my extravert personality and also I think I can learn more from I'd like to invest time and money in getting the certificates that match my experience, eventually I'd like to go for my RYA Yachtmaster offshore. I've recently done the RYA Practical sailing courses for Coastal Skipper, the RYA Yachtmaster theory and the RYA Powerboat level II succesfully.

Hobbies & Interests
Watersports (I'm currently into Wingfoling), going to the gym, hiking, swimming and snorkeling, healthy food and homecooked meals, reading, but I also don't mind a drink or 2 and dancing the night away (it's called balance).
Experience
Chef assistant/ hostess
CurrentWork exchange program (one month) for a kitesurfing/ wingfoiling school that's is run from a 30m MY, in Safaga (Egypt). I'm assisting the chef and I'm making sure the guests are ok and enjoying their time (especially because the crew speaks very basic English)
All-round solo liveaboard crew
Solo liveaboard crew member onboard of a privately owned sailing yacht. My role included a mix of deck work (including dual night watches on passages), interior upkeep (including lots of bilge cleaning!), guest service, provisioning, cooking, coordinating contractors, sourcing spare parts, preparing customs & immigration procedures, light mechanical maintenance work.
All round crewmember
I voluntarily crewed on a yacht that followed the WorldARC route. I joined them from the Canary Islands to Tahiti. Although it was not a professional position, it's relevant because I learned a lot! We were on board with only 3 crew (later 4) so all tasks were divided equally. Next to the "regular" sailing work (including solohanded nightwatches) my main focus was on provisioning, cooking (every day, under every circumstance!), customs & immigration procedures and interior/cleaning.
