I am currently seeking a deck position on a yacht. I hold a Chief Mate 3000GT certificate, as well as an unlimited OOW certificate for both deck and engine, equipping me with a well-rounded skill set for yacht operations. I am currently serving as Chief Mate on the 43m M/Y Tahi. This role has significantly strengthened my crew management skills and given me a deeper understanding of flag and class requirements, particularly during surveys and inspections. I also had the opportunity to take part in a major refit project as Chief Mate, which gave me valuable experience in shipyard coordination, work supervision, and reviewing all aspects of onboard safety and ISM compliance. In the yachting industry, I previously served as Chief Engineer on the 35m M/Y Maoro before taking on the roles of 2nd Officer and 2nd Engineer on the 55m M/Y Steel. These positions allowed me to refine my technical expertise, leadership skills, and problem-solving abilities in dynamic maritime environments. I gained valuable experience in shipyard periods, preparing a yacht for the season, and operating efficiently during both charter and private trips. Prior to yachting, I built a strong foundation in commercial shipping, working on cruise ships, container vessels, and Ro-Ro carriers. This background provided me with extensive knowledge in safety management (ISM, SMS, ISPS), navigation, and overall vessel operations. I am proud of my strong work ethic, team-oriented mindset, and readiness to assist colleagues whenever needed, fostering a cooperative and efficient workplace. I am highly motivated to contribute my extensive experience and dedication to the yacht. I am confident that my versatility and commitment to excellence align well with the demands of the yachting industry.
